You're officially crawling now and you're so proud of yourself! You did the rock back and forth in your hands and knees for a week then just decided to go for it. You love your newfound freedom. You don't cry when I leave the room anymore. You just follow me now. You enjoy exploring in and out of all the rooms. Dad loves building you towers out of blocks around the room and you love crawling around and knocking them down. I finally let you sit up in the shopping cart. You were nervous at first and clung to the side but then warmed up and loved it. You love being able to look around and seeing everything better. The down syndrome guy at the grocery store thinks you're so funny and talks to you every time he bags our groceries. You're still eating really well and seem to like any new food we give you. We got you a little mesh food holder and put peaches and watermelon in so you can suck out all the juice and not choke. I have started giving you small bits of food. At first you gagged on it but now you're learning to mush and chew. We had to lower your crib again because you pull yourself up on the side and usually get stuck. You still don't have any teeth. Grandma Lisa bought you a little battery operated chihuahua puppy. You think it is real and squeal every time you see him. We named him Tito and you like to follow him around. You are learning how to let us know what you don't like. Like if we take you out of your bed and leave your blanket then you'll whine until we give it to you. You like having a blanket to go to sleep and for awhile after you wake up. It has become hard to change your diaper and dress you. You like to roll around and wiggle on the changing table. I give you a toy to distract you and then hurry as fast as I can to change you. Sometimes it takes both me and dad to do it. You still take about 3 naps a day but sometimes you take 2 long ones. You got to swing at the park for your first time and had a big smile on your face. We have taken you to feed ducks at the pond twice. You get so excited and kick your legs and squeal at the ducks when they get close. We took you to a pet store one evening and you happily screamed the whole time. Your favorite were the puppies and little mice. You were curious but unsure about the birds. The fish didn't hold your attention. And there was a cat but it hissed at you. We don't like cats. Your new favorite thing to do is climb on every thing and everyone. If mom or dad are laying on the ground then you quickly crawl over and climb all over. You climb up the side of your crib until you're standing straight up. Then yell for us to come and get you out. You also think you can walk. Multiple times a day You want to hold onto my fingers and walk around the house. You're getting pretty good at it. You've learned to open drawers. You like watching me put my makeup on. You sit in your chair on the counter and stare trying to figure out what I'm doing. Your personality is coming out strong and I can tell you are going to be a tease! I love this age. My favorite moments are when we laugh together which is becoming regularly. You're my best friend.
